The role of international organisations in forming of Kosovo police

The subject of this bachelor thesis is the reform of Kosovo police after 1999 and the role of international organizations NATO, UN, OSCE and EU, and their missions KFOR, UNMIK, OMiK and EULEX in this reform. The paper is divided into three parts - the first one explains the background of presence of UNMIK, EULEX and OMiK missions, and KFOR units in Kosovo. The second part is dedicated to the experience that UN, EU and OSCE have with police work and reform in hosting states. In the third part, the paper explores the actual reform of Kosovo's police force. It looks at the creation of Kosovo police school, cooperation of international organizations and transfer of responsibility between the analysed subjects. In closing the paper identifies the main problems which accompany the reform of Kosovo police, and answers questions about whether it established sufficient ethnical diversity in Kosovo police staff and which issues, if any, can be seen in the way that responsibilities were transferred.

Operation of Mission EULEX in Kosovo in judiciary and police in years 2008-2014

This bachelor thesis called "Operation of Mission EULEX in Kosovo in judiciary and police in years 2008-2014" deals with operating of the European Unions' civilian rule of law mission in Kosovo from the point of view of EULEX itself. The aim of this thesis is to find the answer to question, how EULEX perceives its acting and how this perception differs from the opinion of other observers. In the first part of this thesis the historical context is described with the emphasis on the international presence in the region. The second part is dedicated to characteristics of the features of the civilian mission and it describes its structures and functioning. The core of this study is the analysis of missions' programme reports from years 2009 and 2014, where the study follows, if EULEX achieved their declared goals in the period of six years. Thesis shows on this basis, that despite the fact that mission had not achieved originally stated goals, it assesses its performance positively and this opinion is built on partial progress of Kosovar institutions. Taking into account of the opinion of other authors study concludes, that EULEX is optimistic in its evaluation and does not reflect in its reports some of the serious issues challenging Kosovo.

The diploma thesis "The KFOR mission in Kosovo: The NATO activity in Kosovo after the military intervention in 1999" has its aim in describing individual steps of the KFOR mission in Kosovo after 1999 and strives to analyze the achievements of this activity. How much effectiveness KFOR produced in pursuing the goal of peacekeeping and post-conflict reconstruction? What were the achievements of the mission and when is it feasible to withdraw the mission from Kosovo? In addition, the thesis also analyzes the activity of other international missions in Kosovo and their cooperation with KFOR.
Kosovo Protection corps and its influence on political stability in Kosovo

The main objective of this thesis is to investigate the potential correlation between KPC members and organized crime as well as their influence over the political stability in Kosovo since the end of the conflict. The first part of the thesis is based on a literature research which introduces the theory of conflict, the level of safety and the organized crime definition. Then, the analytical part focuses on Kosovo history, its correlation with organized crime and the decision making process of former KPC members. Finally the suggestion part enumerates some improvements in fighting against organized crime such as INTERPOL membership to bring trust and transparency to the International Community.
Post-conflict reconstruction of Kosovo (socioeconomic area case study)

The aim of this Bachelor thesis is to evaluate the post-conflict reconstruction of Kosovo using appropriate socioeconomic indicators. The Analysis was made primarily from the data of World Bank focusing on the evolution of indicators and their evaluation. Thesis concludes current unsatisfactory socioeconomic situation in Kosovo.
Activities of the European Union in Kosovo

The essence of this bachelor thesis is in activity of European Union in the Balkans{\crq} region with a view to the territory of Kosovo, which has recently gained independence. For better understanding it is necessary to generalize this problem and contextualize ethnic diversity, poor economy and general instability. Attention is also paid to modern history and to operations of international organizations NATO and UNO on this territory. To analyze these problems I use especially International and European law. One of the most important activities of the European Union towards Kosovo is civil mission EULEX organized within the frame of the Common Foreign and Security Policy. Goal of this thesis is to describe actual activities of European Union on this territory and to consider their contribution in light of long-term development not only of this new state but also of the whole Balkans{\crq} region.
